The internet is flipping out over the latest cover of GQ Magazine, featuring Brad Pitt — or at least a figure that somewhat resembles him.

On Wednesday, GQ released its profile of the veteran movie star, who appears to be floating in a dark pool of flowers on the cover, his face frozen in a blank stare. The actor spoke with the publication to promote his forthcoming action film, "Bullet Train," which opens in August.

Josh Bell hit a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning of his return home as the Washington Nationals beat the Texas Rangers 2-1. Bell is from nearby Irving, Texas. He also had a triple and double, and scored Washington’s only other run. The Nationals played their first interleague game at Texas in 17 years. Adolis Garcia homered and had his sixth outfield assist of the season for the Rangers. Texas had won its previous six interleague games. Carl Edwards worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the victory. Bell's winning hit came off reliever Dennis Santana.

DENVER — Ondrej Palat raised his stick high, calling for the puck as he found himself alone between the hashmarks.

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA (AP) - Results from Argentine football:

Austin Voth and four relievers combined on a one-hitter, Jorge Mateo had a heated exchange with White Sox starter Michael Kopech after getting nailed by a pitch and the Baltimore Orioles beat Chicago 4-1. Voth, normally a reliever, went three innings in his second start. He gave up an RBI double to Jake Burger in the second for Chicago’s lone hit. The only real drama occurred in the second inning, after Kopech retired the first two batters. He nailed Mateo near the left shoulder and upper back with a similar pitch to the one that hit Chicago’s Josh Harrison on Thursday. Mateo had some words for Kopech. The benches and bullpens emptied, but no punches were thrown. Both teams were issued warnings.

It may have been something of an eyebrow-raiser to see Christian Arroyo ahead of Xander Bogaerts in the lineup as the Red Sox began a pivotal series on Friday in Cleveland.

The Arizona Senate’s ethics committee's attorney has submitted a report to the full Senate on a probe of a Republican lawmaker’s online comments that appeared to blame the federal government for a supermarket massacre in Buffalo, New York. The report reaches no conclusions on whether Sen. Wendy Rogers’ comment broke Senate rules. It will be up to the full Senate to decide whether the Flagstaff lawmaker's comment merits discipline. Rogers tweeted: “Fed boy summer has started in Buffalo” as news broke about the May 14 mass shooting in Buffalo. Many thought Rogers was saying the federal government was behind the attack. She denied that was her intent.

Norwegian police say two people have been killed and more than a dozen injured in a mass shooting in Oslo. The shooting happened early Saturday outside a bar in the downtown area of the Norwegian capital, police said. A suspect has been arrested, police spokesman Tore Barstad said. The motive was not immediately known.

MINNEAPOLIS — Carlos Correa was positioned perfectly. The statistics showed that Charlie Blackmon tended to pull the ball to the right side, and when the Rockies' designated hitter swung over the top of a sixth-inning fastball from Dylan Bundy, his ground ball hopped directly to the Twins' s…

NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Verlander pitched four-hit ball over seven innings, Kyle Tucker hit a three-run homer and the Houston Astros beat the Yankees 3-1 Friday night to stop New York’s 15-game home winning streak.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping will visit Hong Kong this week to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the former British colony’s 1997 return to China. It will mark his first trip outside the country’s mainland since the start of the coronavirus pandemic 2 1/2 years ago. The trip was announced by the official Xinhua News Agency on Saturday. It gave no indication how long Xi would stay in Hong Kong or other details. Xinhua said Xi also will attend the inaugural meeting of the territory’s newly installed government. Whether Xi would visit Hong Kong at all for the anniversary had been in doubt due to the territory’s struggle to control a surge in infections this year.

Germán Márquez pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings and the Colorado Rockies edged the Twins 1-0 in a rare trip to Minnesota. Charlie Blackmon’s run-scoring fielder’s choice was the difference for the Rockies, who snapped a three-game skid. Daniel Bard earned his 15th save in 17 chances. The Rockies notched their first shutout of the season. Dylan Bundy (4-4) allowed a run in six innings for the Twins, giving up four hits and two walks. Minnesota was shut out for the 10th time in 72 games this season, one night after shutting out Cleveland.

Zach Greinke tossed six innings of one-run ball, Edward Olivares hit two solo homers and the Kansas City Royals beat the Oakland Athletics 3-1. Both Grienke (1-4)  and Olivares were activated from rehab assignments Friday. Olivares belted homers to left field in his first at-bats — in the third and fifth innings — for his first career multi-homer game. Greinke allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts for his first win in his second stint with Kansas City. Seth Brown collected the lone RBI for Oakland. Scott Barlow earned his ninth save of the season.

NEW YORK — Playing in front of a sellout crowd at Yankee Stadium that could best be described as feral, the Yankees and Astros were locked in a staring contest for five innings.

Trea Turner had three hits, including a home run, Freddie Freeman reached base three times in his emotional return to Atlanta and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Braves 4-1. Julio Urías gave up only one run in six innings but the Dodgers absorbed bad news for their pitching staff before and during the game. Left-hander Andrew Heaney was placed on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation. Right-hander Daniel Hudson exited in the eighth with an apparent left knee injury. Freeman had one hit, a sixth-inning single. He walked twice and scored two runs.

Christian Arroyo hit a two-run homer in the seventh and had three RBIs in his return from the COVID-19 injured list, powering the red-hot Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Arroyo’s go-ahead homer to left-center off Bryan Shaw (3-1) gave Boston a 4-2 lead, paving the way for its fifth straight win and moving it a season-high nine games over .500. Boston carried a 6-2 advantage into the ninth, but closer Tanner Houck gave up an RBI single to rookie Steven Kwan before retiring Amed Rosario and José Ramírez back-to-back with the bases loaded.

A 32-year-old Los Angeles police officer who suffered fatal neck injuries during a department training last month had been getting beaten by other officers in an exercise meant to “simulate a mob,” according to a wrongful-death claim filed against the city by his mother.
