Ocala, FL—The family of Carolyn May Glass, 70, are saddened to report her peaceful passing on August 20, 2022. She passed while on home hospice in Ocala, Florida. She was surrounded by her husband Michael, children Todd and Kari as well as her older brother Art. Carolyn passed within weeks of being diagnosed with advanced adenocarcinoma.

Born on June 24, 1952, to parents Arthur F. Lawson and H. Jean Lawson at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Carolyn graduated from Lanphier High school in 1970 and with an LPN certificate from the Capitol Area Career Center. Carolyn was a member of the Order of the Job's Daughter's while a youth and joined the Order of the Eastern Star when she was an adult. Carolyn worked at St. John's Hospital, did private duty nursing, spent a year working at Elder Power and from 1986 to 2001 at the Illinois Department of Insurance. Carolyn worked with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Epidemiologic Studies until her retirement in 2011.

Carolyn volunteered for the Scouts for each of her children from Den mother and assistant to the wooden race cars to a notorious seller of Girl Scout cookies, so that her daughter could attend Camp Widjiwagan every summer (a break for everyone really:) Carolyn was also a very big help to her daughter and The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Carolyn loved bingo, Facebook, Facebook Marketplace, a varied amount of craft projects, going to craft shows, and the annual Spoon River Drive with her very best friend Terri Wyatt. She never really new a bad garage or estate sale. She loved to make "diaper cakes" for friends and family, and would occasionally sell them at times.

Carolyn leaves behind her husband of sixteen years Michael Glass. A dog named Tucker, inherited by her daughter. Her children Kari Ann Chastain (wife Jennifer Beavers), Todd Chastain (wife Deb Chastain) and step-daughters Teresa Stevick (husband Jess Stevick) and Jennifer Germany. Her brother Arthur T. Lawson (wife Dee), a niece, nephew and their children, grandchildren as well as a couple of great grandchildren and some cousins.

Carolyn had chosen to be cremated and a private Memorial Gathering to honor her. Carolyn was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church.
